The 87th street/Woodruff station on the Metra Electric line will be closed beginning Monday, December 16. During this time passengers can use 83rd and 91st street stations as alternatives. This is part of the Metra Electric Community initiative to transform multiple stations on the Metra Electric District. Once completed, the station will have an enclosed ADA-accessible street-level entrance, lobby with an elevator, new stairs, headhouses, new composite deck platforms, new lighting, and signage. The station is expected to reopen in late 2025. For more information visit metra.com.
The 79th Street/Chatham station on the Metra Electric may not be fully ADA accessible Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
On Monday, March 3, the 95th st/Chicago State University station will close for approximately 2 years to undergo a rehabilitation and expansion project. During this time passengers should use 91st street and 103rd st/Rosemoor stations as alternates. Updates will be provided.
Monday through Friday, from 9AM to 4PM, the 103rd St,/Rosemoor station may not be fully ADA accessible due to nearby station construction.

Crowding Potential

Low - Less than 50 riders per car. Riders can expect to find a seat at least one row from other riders.

Some - 50-70 riders per car. Riders can expect to find a seat and not have another rider sitting next to them.

Moderate - 70-100 riders per car. Riders may have to stand to avoid sitting next to another rider.

High - 100+ riders per car. Limited space available. Riders may need to stand near other riders, and the train may skip stations in order to avoid further crowding.
